Deviled Mice Recipe
Ingredients:
8 pcs of eggs
6 pcs of lettuce leaves (large)
1 Tbsp of chocolate sprinkle
4.5 Tbsps of mayonnaise
16 pcs of olives; stuffed with pimento
Knife
Fork
Platter
Big saucepan
Bowl
64 pcs of toothpicks
Instructions:
Place eggs slowly inside a water-filled saucepan (just enough to cover all the eggs) and boil under high temperature. Once boiled, adjust to medium-heat and let it simmer (10 minutes).
Take your pan off from heat then drain the hot water off to your sink. Cool these by submerging in water (preferably cold) for 5 minutes. Against any sturdy surface, crack your eggs, then have the eggshells peeled off carefully.
Cut the cooked eggs into halves by slicing lengthwise. Scoop the eggyolks out and place inside a bowl, then mash using a fork ’til crumbly in appearance.
Next, add in mayonnaise then mix. Scoop a part of the mixture & fill in emptied eggwhites.
Arrange lettuce, covering the entire surface of a big platter. Setting aside two leaves for garnishing purposes. With the yolk portion down, arrange prepared eggs on top of the leaves in. These will become the body part of your mouse.
Take out a pimento from a piece of olive, then slice into 3 little pieces. Attach to bodies, filling the nose and eye parts. Ask help from your mom as you create 32 strips of thinly cut olives in lengthwise fashion.
Stick together two strips to the mouse’s back part forming the mouse’s tail. Slice the rest fo the olives into 32 small pcs of triangular shape forming the ears.
Put in small lettuce pieces at the mouth part to appear as if these mice were noshing. Drop off choco sprinkles around as if they were droppings of your mouse.
